MLK Jr. East Busway – the coolest idea ever for public transportation

Adam and I live a five-minute walk from one of the stations on Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway in Pittsburgh. This is an amazing thoroughfare which gives buses an express connection between downtown Pittsburgh and the East End.

Adam and I absolutely love that fact that we live so close to this amazing public transportation option. We have our Connect Cards (similar to Hong Kong’s Octopus Cards), and we use the bus whenever we need to go pretty much anywhere.

Here’s a 14-second video I took the other day of the Busway. The speed limit for buses is 55 miles per hour, and the busway really is a brilliant way to travel.
